HA301 – Packs – Philmont Backpacking High Adventure
TROOP 1128 Jul 2017 HA-301 – Packs 2017 – Philmont Backpacking High Adventure!

Nine scouts and three adults will be going to Philmont Scout Ranch this summer. They will be backpacking for nine days and they will climb the two highest peaks (Mount Baldy and Tooth of Time). This trip was in the making for more than a year. The crew selection process began in the Fall of 2015 with informational sessions.
To be eligible to be in this year Philmont Crew, the scouts were required to:
- sell $300 worth of popcorn
- obtain Troop 1128 Achievement Award – Service
- participate in the mandatory 5-day backpacking trip in the Summer of 2016
before the deadline of Crew selection of September 20, 2016 and will be 15 year of age by Summer 2017.
After the crew selection, the crew members are required to:
- attend few Training Hikes and one overnight campout
- attend few Pack check meetings
in the Fall of 2016 and Spring of 2017.
