Located off Route 7 at Trap Road in Virginia, Troop 1128 was founded over 35 years ago. In addition to monthly campouts, we have weekly troop meetings in which we work on advancement, learn skills, play games, and plan campouts. The troop’s activities are planned and organized by the Patrol Leaders Council (PLC) which consists of the patrol leaders, the Senior Patrol Leader, other Junior Leaders (quartermaster, scribe, webmasters, etc.) and the Scoutmaster.
We are proud to maintain a long-standing tradition of a boy-run scouting experience. Our troop firmly believes in education by experience - A scout learns best from participation, not lecturing. Our scouts are involved in all aspects of the troop. From planning monthly outings to conducting weekly meetings, the scouts truly are responsible for the troop. We have found this approach fosters responsibility and personal growth.
Parents are encouraged to become active in the troop as Assistant Scoutmasters or members of the Troop Committee. The committee provides valuable administrative and fiscal support, reviews and approves the annual activity calendar, and staffs Boards of Review, an essential part of the BSA advancement process.
If you are interested in becoming a part of Troop 1128, please come to a troop meeting. Meetings are every Tuesday night from 7:30 to 8:45 in the basement of Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church. The address of the Andrew Chapel is:
