Mandatory SPL/PL Candidate Meeting
Feb 26 @ 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Scouts wishing to stand for election as Senior Patrol Leader or Patrol Leader during our elections on March 12, or wishing to be appointed as Assistant Senior Patrol Leader or Assistant Patrol Leader for the spring/summer term, are required to attend one or the other of these two meetings so they can make an informed decision about whether they are prepared to make the commitment necessary to succeed in those positions.

Introduction to Leadership Course
Mar 2 @ 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

The purpose of this course is to give Scouts who are getting close to assuming positions of responsibility in the troop or their patrol an introduction to techniques that will help them succeed as leaders. Any Scout who has achieved at least the rank of Second Class is strongly encouraged to attend. The course is designed to be fun. While we teach important lessons about leadership, we use a lot of initiative games to do that, so Scouts aren’t just sitting around for six hours. A pizza lunch will be provided.

Completing Introduction to Leadership is a requirement for Scouts wishing to stand for election as SPL or PL, or wishing to be appointed as ASPL or APL. Most other positions of responsibility in the troop require completing this course during the term, if the Scout has not completed it before his appointment.
