Announcing HA-101, an introductory High Adventure camping trip in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, featuring caving, rafting and rock climbing.
This trip is designed to introduce Scouts, ages 12-13, to Troop 1128’s High Adventure program. It includes caving (an experience that begins where the handrails end), white-water rafting (Class III-IV rapids), and technical rock climbing ( rappelling and top roping) at Seneca Rocks (where the 10th mountain division trained during World War II). It is open to Scouts who:
*Are active in the troop
*Will be at least 12 years old by August 3, 2019
*Have attained Second Class rank
*Have earned the Outdoor ethics Awareness Award
In addition, Scouts will need to have passed the BSA Swim Test or earned Swimming Merit Badge prior to the trip. (This normally occurs at Goshen Scout Camp).
Cost: Estimated trip cost is $475 per participant, which includes all activities, fees, food and transportation.
Deposit: $100 deposit is required to hold a space. Make checks out to BSA Troop 1128
Sign ups will be available at Troop meetings, but space is limited.
