Annual Troop Fair, Family Dinner, and Fall Court of Honor (COH)

The annual Troop Fair is an opportunity for our Scouts to show off their Scouting skills while introducing Webelos from local Cub Scout packs to our program. The day begins at 9:00 am with the assembling of a rope bridge and other exhibits to welcome the Webelos who will arrive later in the afternoon. Scouts are asked to be at Andrew Chapel for as much of the day as possible, and lunch will be provided for them. Parents are invited to see the exhibits from 3:30 to 4 pm.

We ask that you make every effort to attend the Court of Honor (COH) following the Dinner. A court of honor is a formal recognition of a Scout’s accomplishments. It is an important part of the advancement program, in which Scouts gain self-confidence and self-reliance by meeting a series of challenges and are encouraged to make further progress when we celebrate what they have done. This is one of only three courts of honor the troop holds each year where we recognize and individually honor all Scouts for their achievements during the past four months (including all their achievements at Goshen).
This is our troop’s biggest court of honor of the year, and almost every Scout in the troop will receive some type of recognition.
Attending courts of honor is a good way for you to show your son or daughter that you care about what he/she is doing in Scouting. You send an important message when you are present and the wrong one when you are not, particularly if your son/daughter is being recognized.
For those being recognized for rank advancement, the parents will also receive a miniature replica of the rank insignia awarded to their scout during the Court of Honor.
Thank you for your help, and we hope to see you at the Family Dinner and COH!
