Announcing HA-101, an introductory High Adventure camping trip in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, featuring caving, rafting and rock climbing!
This trip is designed to introduce Scouts, ages 12-13, to Troop 1128’s High Adventure program. It includes caving (real, muddy, deep-in-the-earth caving that begins where the handrails and lights in the cavern end), white-water rafting (Class III – IV rapids), and technical rock climbing (rappelling and top roping) at Seneca Rocks (where special forces trained during WWII).
It is open to Scouts who:
- Are Active in the Troop
- Will be at least 12 years old by August 5, 2017
- Have been to Goshen Scout Camp at least once
- Have attained Second Class rank
- Have attended JLT – Junior Leader Training
- Have earned Outdoor Ethics Awareness Award
- Have passed the BSA Swim Test or earned Swimming Merit Badge prior to the trip, but this normally always occurs at Goshen Scout Camp.
Cost: Estimated trip cost is $300 per participant, which includes all activities, fees, food and transportation.
Deposit: $100 deposit is required to hold a space. Make checks out to “BSA Troop 1128”.
Sign-ups will be available at Troop meetings throughout the month of April and May until full. Space is limited to 12 Scouts.
